Welcome to the NEiA Portfolio class blog

This blog space is for your use. To have "posting" privileges you must become an author. I will add your gmail account to facilitate that step. You need to have a google account that contains your whole name, so you will receive credit for your weekly postings. Please start a new gmail account if necessary for yourself and email it to me within a few days of our semester start.

After becoming an author you will be able to upload your jpegs to the blog and start a "new post." You will also be able to leave feedback on other students' posts. A percentage of your class grade is based on your participation with posting and commenting.

I'm looking forward to seeing you do your best work this semester! Stay on task, and the end result will be worth all your hard work.

I'll begin this blog with a sample post, one of my recent projects. This is an example of how you will post your work, uploading a .jpeg or .png of the project and giving us some background information. You will receive my feedback, along with other students' feedback, in the comment section below your post.

Please give this a test run now by leaving a comment below the following post.

Coni's recent logo design

To begin the habit of your postings and feedback, please read this sample posting and leave a comment. You will be expected to post once a week, and then give feedback to at least 2 of your classmates here.

Project: I was hired to design a new logo and establish a total brand look, for a classical pianist who performs, teaches, composes, and plans to open a new music studio on Sanibel Island, Florida

Message: The client is new to the southern gulf coast area - so logo needs to clearly communicate a sophisticated, well-educated musician who is offering graduate-level advanced piano sessions and workshops. The design as well as the colors need to reflect the upscale beach environment of that area.

Influences: We identified, in the early stages of the design, that he was drawn to the Art Nouveau period.
