Personal Logo - Jackie

Hello!
Just looking for some feedback for my personal logo (before & after shown above). My biggest struggle has been the top of the curve in the loop of the 'J'

Let me know what you guys think!

  1. Jackie - the biggest issue that exists here can be seen in both solutions. As clever as the curved text is (and I do like at this size) - you have will readability problems when this logo if it is used at a small size, like on the return address of an envelope, or as a repeated small element on the pages of your portfolio. A logo must be recognizable at any size, which means at a small size the little text will appear silly. If you are still considering this, enlarge the text and then work with it. I can see quite a few places it would make sense to use at a larger size, and still complement the lovely large initials.

  2. Another thought: your initial "j" still isn't settled into it's shape quite yet I see... neither of these versions is quite right (the j does not match the other letters in angle, width, or visual flow)... keep working with this and place it alongside the finished "f" which should help you accomplish the descender angle and help you judge the proportions of the swash..
