Chameleon Update

I've done some work on my Chameleon project since I last asked for feedback. Here's the updated version!

And to reiterate since it's been a while:

Project Info: Chameleon Art Supplies sells quality creative tools at a reasonable price. The company prides itself on the belief that art is for everyone, no matter the experience or skill level, and encourages artists from all over the country to pick up a paintbrush and do what they love. With competition like Crayola and Prismacolor, Chameleon strives to find the balance between technique and fun. So choose Chameleon for your next artistic undertaking, and let your colors show.

Chameleons are commonly known for their ability to blend in with their surroundings, but the reality is that the creatures primarily use their color-changing abilities for communication purposes, not camouflage.  Art is something that I feel passionate about as a communication tool between humans, so that was a parallel that I focused strongly on during this project. The logo is a simplified chameleon face from the front view, an angle that isn’t often seen in photographs. The logo font is Eccentric STD, which I found strongly reminiscent of a chameleon’s long, stick-like legs. The secondary element is a spread of rounded diamonds. The diamonds come in all of the colors from the company palette EXCEPT for the actual green of the logo, and they are laid out in all different sizes. This design element is a reference to chameleon skin, which is covered in rough bumps of different sizes that enable the chameleon to change their colors. Instead of circular shapes, I used the rounded diamonds in order to connect back to the logo.

  1. Siobhan - this is looking great, and the only issue I see remaining is the lower right of page 5. The neg space is unbalanced on the spread... add a small element here? Nice job. Makes me happy just to look at the design and color palette.
