  1. Maria - this looks quite nice, although I'm not sure I DO remember how it is put together. My guess is that it is actually a booklet with left and right pages... although I can see that can't be right because it is 10 pages, and it would need to be 12 pages for that to work. So... you may have a challenge when it comes to displaying this in your digital portfolio - to make it clear how this is constructed.

    A few thoughts:
    1. The text block that contains "Explore Boston's Best Tea and Coffee Houses" doesn't actually read quite like that. Instead, because of the bold and emphasized words... it actually reads "Boston's &". That's it. I wonder how you might change the visual hierarchy within this element using color rather than typography (since the arrangement of letter forms is tight and well constructed). Consider using color to help the & "sit back" and choose other words to emphasize to help us identify the meaning of this text block. BTW - the curved heading that sits to the right is quite lovely.

    2. On the left hand pages with dense type, I wonder if you'd consider increasing the width of the gutter that separates the 2 main columns and moves down the center of the page? That would help separate the left and right sides of the page (each with its 2 columns)... currently the 2 columns in the middle of the page look like they could be together because they sit so closely next to each other.

    3. Month of July "Coffee" should be black, like the other pages... and we'll see rhythm between the pages, as well as the nice contrast in that area of the page...as exists on the other pages.

    4. Last left-hand page - the block of white type (credits) sits a bit awkwardly on the page with that image that bleeds off lower left. Where can it sit, and in what shape, so it balances that image? Why not use the page grid you have set up for the other left hand pages... one of those vertical alignments will work... and I encourage you to consider FL rather than centered alignment.

  2. Maria,

I remember this piece from class, and it is so beautiful! My biggest piece of feedback would be on the first page, the blue design on the left there - I think it is supposed to say '2014', but it looks more like 2044. Also, I wonder if the opacity was dropped a bit to see the cityscape slightly behind it. Just a thought. The interior of the booklet looks very nice though!
