This is my finished Ghiradelli package design. What I really liked about this project was that it gave me some creative freedom as far as the flavor design goes. There were two of these but I felt that my chalkboard Irish cream design was more successful. After receiving feedback in class I decided to use the logo design from my other design and incorporate it in this one, only modifying the color to make it work with this color palette. Overall, I think this works better than using the original logo on top of the gold banner but it may still need some changes, maybe something else I could do with the logo? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Kayla - this is really quite lovely. You mention a gold banner, and as soon as I read that, I imagined that I saw it in place running horizontally around the top of the package and behind the logo element. Adding a gold to the cool color palette would be a nice idea, and make this seem "regal"... which is just what the client would want, I think. I like the way this has evolved, nice work.
ReplyDeleteI like this design, the green, shamrock, and the Celtic knots/design is a nice touch and definitely give off the Irish feel.
ReplyDeleteMy only suggestion is watch out for the spacing around the design. Shift everything a little lower because the lid takes up some of the space on top, cutting a little too close to the logo.
I love that you combined the 2 designs for Ghiradelli. I agree with Coni about adding the gold banner, I think it will really look nice against the background. I think the chalk drawn aspect is unique and would be really fun to work with regardless of flavor and colors.
ReplyDeleteSomething about the line to left seems off or unfinished to me. I see the line the chalk drawing sits on but the line going up on the left is a little distracting. If the line isn't there maybe you could play around the the type to the left a bit and have it take up more space and balance with the drawing.
Kayla,
ReplyDeleteThis sounds lovely, where do I get some? On another note, have you tried matching the chalkboard like style of the glass and mug with the brown product? I'm curious as to how that would look with similar styles.
Also, I think the "I" in Irish should be a little smaller. It looks a bit funny that the logo drops down lower. I would recommend to either have the logo end where the I starts, and have the I fall just below that. It looks good though!
