Wolfbait

Hey everyone,
This was my brochure for corp. identity. Wolfbait is a fictional energy drink brand focusing on biodegradable cartons instead of cans, fair trade, and more organic products within each carton.

  1. Tony - as I understand it this is an energy drink that is packaged in "green" material. I assume the wolf image is chosen because you are suggesting the drink is for people who want the stamina to hike/bike/ and have the energy to get lots of outdoor activity. Am I right? (I can't really read the body copy large enough on the blog screen.)

If so - maybe we really need to see many more people doing all these outdoor activities? I suggest you incorporate the human connection to this drink as much, if not more than, the wolf connection. Or - make sure the wolf and the athlete are seen together in the spread... as if they are working together for the benefit of high performance for both.

Another suggestion would be to tone down the use of the yellow angled shapes... they cover over the outdoor pictures, don't really add much to our understanding of the message, and generally become tiresome. They are an easy element to repeat - but not a particularly interesting one.

I have lots more thoughts about this - but these are the 2 major issues that should/could influence some major page layout changes and so I'll reserve future comments for when I see the future design of this piece.

  2. Hi Tony, hi!

This is looking nice, but my biggest feedback would have to be towards the cover. You could definitely use a more powerful image here to draw the audience in. Also, have you considered using two columns with the copy inside? It would break up the text and make them yellow seem a lot less overbearing as it does now (the yellow text and banners is a lot, and distracts the viewer from the copy). Also, have you played with the opacity of the banners? I'm curious to see how it would look with a slight transparency in some of them. I really enjoy the color palette though!
